Ontario Tech Racing is a club based out of the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science at Ontario Tech University that empowers students with the enriching, hands-on learning experience of designing, budgeting, and building a Formula-style electric race car. We are a student design team that cultivates innovation and embraces the multidisciplinary challenges faced by professional motorsport teams.
We are dedicated to researching and developing the future of automotive propulsion technologies, with the backing of our faculty and sponsors. We place value and emphasis on teamwork and efficiency as well as the art of knowledge transfer here at Ontario Tech Racing.
Measures the vehicle's acceleration over a 75m straight track
Measures the vehicle's durability and reliability over a 22km race
Measures the vehicle's maneuverability and handling over a tight sprint course with a series of turns and straight paths
Measures the vehicle's energy efficiency during the endurance event
Measures the vehicle's cornering ability over a figure-8 with constant radius
Evaluation of design methods used during the design, testing, integration, and validation phases of every component
Evaluates each team's business case which argues that their vehicle is best for the active racing market
Evaluates the team's ability to produce and solve problems under an efficient budget while remaining competitive
